I wish this helpful for you While trying to solve a different problem than the one I've described in this question, I came across an answer that I'm sharing here. It comes from class Context in org.hibernate:hibernate-jpamodelgen:5.4.4.Final
        TypeElement java8AndBelowGeneratedAnnotation =
                pe.getElementUtils().getTypeElement( "javax.annotation.Generated" );
        if ( java8AndBelowGeneratedAnnotation != null ) {
            generatedAnnotation = java8AndBelowGeneratedAnnotation;
        else {
            // Using the new name for this annotation in Java 9 and above
            generatedAnnotation = pe.getElementUtils().getTypeElement( "javax.annotation.processing.Generated" );

How can I examine the whole source tree with an annotation processor?

With these it helps I've solved this well enough for now. What I did is a little hackey, but basically for every annotated class I see, I add its name to a HashSet. Then I use Filer.getResource() to get open a file where I've recorded all the previously-seen annotated classes, and add those to the HashSet too. Then I generate the register class, and write the whole HashSet out to the same resource with Filer.createResource(). This will cause problems if I delete an annotated type, since it will still be recorded in that file, but I can just clean the project or delete that file to solve it.
EDIT: Also, I believe that passing the appropriate "originating elements" to Filer.createSource() should allow Eclipse to track those dependencies properly, but it doesn't. Perhaps that's an Eclipse bug.

How stream processor (low level API) source processor gets data from topic?

may help you . A topology starts from a source node to get data from Kafka, then contains a bunch of processor nodes to perform transformations and finally ends with a sink node to write transformed data into Kafka.
addSource() will create a source node in your topology. A source node consumes records from the topic specified and passes them on to the next nodes in the topology. It does not do any other logic. Under the cover, a source node will start a Kafka Consumer to get the records.

Choosing Gradle incremental annotation processor category when processor depends on a class in annotation value

I wish did fix the issue.
it can't be aggregating, because it doesn't have any annotation on Renderer class, so according to the above documentation, processor won't be called whenever Renderer class changes, because processor hasn't registered to process this file, so this will lead to errors in generated result.
