To fix the issue you can do I am new to laravel and facing an issue. I have a database and there are two tables named groups and clients. I have a form and there are three fields: name, email and group. The group is dropdown select which is populated by groups entries from the database. Now while creating a new client, I want my clients table to have relation with groups table. It will work like this: , You are doing wrong. Try
<select class="form-control" name="group_name">
    @foreach ($groups as $group)
    <option value="{{ $group->id }}">{{ $group->group_name}}</option>
    @endforeach
</select>

Trying to enter information into database column based off of form entry

should help you out Well, you have a couple of options.
The first is to refactor your model and possibly your database, so that rather than having 12 fields for 12 months, you have a collection of month values. That would be easier to update, since you could just use the passed-in month to figure out which entry you want, if it exists, or add it if it doesn't.
 public class AssetMonth
 {
     string AssetTag { get;set;}
     DateTime Month { get;set;} // DateTime would *probably* be the best choice for this
     Decimal? MonthlyChargeRate { get;set;}
 }
 switch(Month) // I don't know what type this is; I'm assuming string.
 {
    case "Jan":
         model.Jan = assets.MonthlyChargeRate;
         break;
    case "Feb":
         model.Feb = assets.MonthlyChargeRate;
    // etc.
}
 PropertyInfo prop = typeof(Asset).GetProperty(Month); // again, assuming string
 prop.SetValue(model, assets.MonthlyChargeRage);

Insert rows based on column entry and determine the entry of the inserted row based on where it inserts

I think the issue was by ths following , here is a solution with data.table It's really just two lines of code (with a bit of comments)
library(data.table)
ADT <- data.table(row=1:nrow(A), A, key="ID")

# just to give an idea of how we can Find the first 0 after the first 1, look at the output from this
ADT[, list(row, EVID,c(NA,diff(EVID)), c(NA,diff(EVID))==1)]

# identify afer which row to insert
# the values you want to change, assign using the `=`
# the values to keep, just call the variable name, no `=` sign
newRows <- ADT[c(NA,diff(EVID))==1, list(row=row+1, ID, TIME=TIME+AMT/DOSE, EVID=2, AMT, DOSE)]

# rbind the new rows with the original DT
# then reverse order by EVID, and order by row.
# After ordering, remove the first column (`row`) since it is not needed
newA <- rbind(ADT, newRows)[order(EVID, decreasing=TRUE)][order(row)][, -1, with=FALSE]

### Results:

 > newA
    ID TIME EVID AMT DOSE
 1:  1   10    1 100   20

I wish did fix the issue. Not clear on if you only want to assign the Caller and RecordDate to the most recent record, or if it could be assigned to all the history records.
For all records, I believe you can do something like
SELECT *, @caller AS Caller, @date AS RecordDate INTO dbo.TestedDevicesHistory
FROM dbo.TestedDevices WHERE CertificateID=@cert

wish helps you Your database will generate an ID on entering, and you can extract that ID in code, then insert it into your email; so assuming you are using mysqli:
$lastID = $mysqli->insert_id
$lastId = $dbh->lastInsertId();
$lastId = $this->db->insert_id();
