around this issue With the XRegExp library and its Unicode plugin you can use this single call to test if a character is a Unicode letter:
XRegExp("^\\p{L}$").test(character)

may help you . Hi I want to replace a string e.g. , You could try the below,
(?<=>)(?=<)
String s = "<foo/><boo/><woo/>";
System.out.println(s.replaceAll("(?<=>)(?=<)", "\n"));
<foo/>
<boo/>
<woo/>
String s = "<foo/><boo/><woo/>";
System.out.println(s.replaceAll("(?!^)(<[A-Za-z])", "\n$1"));

wish helps you It's really simple bro... just clear EditText if the text inside it doesn't have an alphabet .. as you have said ...
TextWatcher mTextWatcher = new TextWatcher() {
    @Override
    public void beforeTextChanged(CharSequence s, int start, int count, int after) {

    }

    @Override
    public void onTextChanged(CharSequence s, int start, int before, int count) {

        boolean atleastOneAlpha = s.toString().matches(".*[a-zA-Z]+.*");

        if (!atleastOneAlpha) {
            editText.setText("");
        }

    }

    @Override
    public void afterTextChanged(Editable s) {

    }
};

mTargetEditText.addTextChangedListener(mTextWatcher);

Regex to require one alphabet and one non-alphabet and no whitespace

it should still fix some issue Your regex implicitly assumes the order of the characters you want to match. The regex is saying that a letter must come before a non-latter. However, you want the letter and the non-letter to come in either order, so you need to account for both cases. Also note that it should be [^\sa-zA-Z] instead of [^a-zA-Z] as you don't allow spaces.
(?:[a-zA-Z][^\sa-zA-Z]|[^\sa-zA-Z][a-zA-Z])
^\S*(?:[a-zA-Z][^\sa-zA-Z]|[^\sa-zA-Z][a-zA-Z])\S*$
