I wish this help you I have an application that some times requires the user to have two forms open at a time. I have the main 'home' form window, but also a calculator form window. It isn't a normal calculator so I would like the calculator to stay within the one application. , Just use form.Show() instead of ShowDialog

How to set focus to a control in a Windows Forms application?

will help you By far the simplest solution is to set the TabIndex property correctly so that your 'MyDropDownList' control has the lowest index. The next approach is to do it in the constructor. But you have to use Select(), the Focus() method cannot work yet because the control doesn't become visible until later.
Public Sub New()
    InitializeComponent()
    MyDropDownList.Select()
End Sub

How to secure a WCF service running in Windows Azure that is accessed by a a Windows Forms Application

hop of those help? This question has already been asked again and again. If a web service is hosted on any server which has a public IP, the only way you can block the client is to authenticate them first and if authentication goes well, they can use the method and if failed they can not use. Authentication and authorization is the key for any service which is hosted on internet otherwise keep the service private.
And to authenticate a WCF service there are pattern & practices are already available and it seems you have already taken care of that.

Task Parallel Library Code Freezes in a Windows Forms Application - Works fine as a Windows Console Application

To fix the issue you can do It's freezing because WaitAll waits on all of the tasks, and you're in the UI thread, so that's blocking the UI thread. Blocking the UI thread freezes your application.
What you want to do, since you're in C# 5.0, is await Task.WhenAll(...) instead. (You'll also need to mark that event handler as async in it's definition.) You won't need to change any other aspects of the code. That will work just fine.
public static Task WhenAll(IEnumerable<Task> tasks)
{
    var tcs = new TaskCompletionSource<object>();
    List<Task> taskList = tasks.ToList();

    int remainingTasks = taskList.Count;

    foreach (Task t in taskList)
    {
        t.ContinueWith(_ =>
        {
            if (t.IsCanceled)
            {
                tcs.TrySetCanceled();
            }
            else if (t.IsFaulted)
            {
                tcs.TrySetException(t.Exception);
            }
            else //competed successfully
            {
                if (Interlocked.Decrement(ref remainingTasks) == 0)
                    tcs.TrySetResult(null);
            }
        });
    }

    return tcs.Task;
}
public static Task WhenAll(IEnumerable<Task> tasks)
{
    return Task.Factory.ContinueWhenAll(tasks.ToArray(), _ => { });
}
MyClass.WhenAll(pingTasks)
    .ContinueWith(t =>
    {
        foreach (var pingTask in pingTasks)
        {
            //pingTask.Result is whatever type T was declared in PingAsync
            textBox1.Text += Convert.ToString(pingTask.Result.RoundtripTime) + Environment.NewLine;
        }
    }, CancellationToken.None,
    TaskContinuationOptions.None,
    //this is so that it runs in the UI thread, which we need
    TaskScheduler.FromCurrentSynchronizationContext());

wish of those help i know this may look a Little confusing, but i have an application built in Windows forms, that has a menu and almost 20 options in a treeview that opens Windows forms child on the main form, but it looks awful, so i wanted to build a usercontrol in wpf that has the options and storyboards, but my problem is that i cant find a way to open the child forms on the main menu when i click the corresponding option in the wpf usercontrol , i did it with this logic
        public FormParent parent { get; set; }
    private void button_Click(object sender, RoutedEventArgs e)
    {
        var source = (HwndSource)PresentationSource.FromDependencyObject(button);
        var host = (System.Windows.Forms.Integration.ElementHost)System.Windows.Forms.Control.FromChildHandle(source.Handle);
        var form = (System.Windows.Forms.Form)host.TopLevelControl;
        FormChild newMDIChild = new FormChild();
        newMDIChild.MdiParent = form;
        newMDIChild.Show();

wish helps you Select the textbox. In the properties window find TabIndex (If you can not find it, sort the properties in A-Z as in the small red rectangle.
Make sure: 1. that the TabIndex is the smallest value comparing to the other controls (as in my example two comboboxes each one has a TabIndex value) 2. The TabStop value is True.
