I think the issue was by ths following , Hey I had this error and fixed it by slowly re-introducing my changes. Backup your work so you don't lose anything Make note of all changes you did leading up to the error (e.g. git status) Revert everything back to a working state (e.g. git checkout src) Slowly reintroduce changes until you get the exact error you got (other errors are fine, keep going one-by-one).
like below fixes the issue It looks like an issue from the React end itself. Lot of people raised this issue in their github and see that here. So until this get resolved, its better not to upgrade to 0.56 . Track this ticket for latest updates. You can try downgrade it to 0.55 and see whether the issue got fixed. To fix the issue you can do Try clearing yarn cache first : yarn cache clean . Then run react-native init ProjectName Which OS you are using ? Update: Solution: It was because react-native init was running on another file system(google drive in this case). Changing the location of react-native init projectname to default file system that OS is using worked.
