I think the issue was by ths following , Sounds like by "the last part", you mean "the part before the query string or after the last slash if there's no query string", right?
Well, you can find the bit after the last slash with this: /([^\/]+)$/

I wish this help you You can't .Echo an object like the match collection you get from .Execute; access the .Value of its first item:
>> sInp = "1234xxx"
>> Set reHead = New RegExp
>> reHead.Pattern = "^\d{4}"
>> Set oMTS = reHead.Execute(sInp)
>> WScript.Echo oMTS(0).Value
>> WScript.Echo oMTS
Error Number:       13
Error Description:  Type mismatch

this will help , You need to use 1st captured group like this:
re.search("detail/([A-Z0-9]+)\?", url).group(1)
//=> 028QCQZ
re.search(r"(?<=detail/)[A-Z0-9]+(?=\?)", url).group()
//=> 028QCQZ

I wish this helpful for you Mario, you can use the built-in regex function preg_split to split the entry into an array first:
$artist = "Lil Wayne - Drop It Like Its Hot";
$keywords = preg_split("/\-+/", $artist);
$name = "";
for($x = 0; $x < count($keywords)-1; $x++) {
  if ($x ==0) {
    $name .= $keywords[$x];
  } else {
    $name = $name . "-" . $keywords[$x];
$arrlength = count($keywords)
$description = $keywords[$arrlength-1]
