To fix the issue you can do I'm working with a team that's developing an app with a feature to share images into our app.
    <action android:name="android.intent.action.SEND"/>
    <category android:name="android.intent.category.DEFAULT"/>
    <data android:name="text/*"/>

Android Intent Filters : How do you use Intent.CATEGORY_BROWSABLE correctly?

I wish this help you So I have retouched this again and the answer is actually pretty simple. Use Intent.createChooser(intent, charSequence). Whatever is chosen seems to bypass the saved preferences of the OS.

Branching the Android Share Intent extras depending on which method they choose to share

this will help found a solution, on this SO question asking for something else: https://stackoverflow.com/a/8550043/1938669
the attempt posted my original question here was close. within that cycle of possible shareIntent List, you need to create a new share intent targeted at the specific sharing choice (like facebook or twitter)
public void shareIt(View view){
    //sharing implementation
    List<Intent> targetedShareIntents = new ArrayList<Intent>();
    Intent sharingIntent = new Intent(android.content.Intent.ACTION_SEND);
    String shareBody = "string of text " + txt_var + " more text! Get the app at http://someapp.com";

    PackageManager pm = view.getContext().getPackageManager();
    List<ResolveInfo> activityList = pm.queryIntentActivities(sharingIntent, 0);
    for(final ResolveInfo app : activityList) {

         String packageName = app.activityInfo.packageName;
         Intent targetedShareIntent = new Intent(android.content.Intent.ACTION_SEND);
         targetedShareIntent.putExtra(android.content.Intent.EXTRA_SUBJECT, "share");
         if(TextUtils.equals(packageName, "com.facebook.katana")){
             targetedShareIntent.putExtra(android.content.Intent.EXTRA_TEXT, "http://someurl.com");
         } else {
             targetedShareIntent.putExtra(android.content.Intent.EXTRA_TEXT, shareBody);

    Intent chooserIntent = Intent.createChooser(targetedShareIntents.remove(0), "Share Idea");

    chooserIntent.putExtra(Intent.EXTRA_INITIAL_INTENTS, targetedShareIntents.toArray(new Parcelable[]{}));

Can one intent match multiple intent-filters of same application?

Hope that helps Since an application can define same intent filter for different components of the application, it's very likely that intent would match multiple component for the same application. What will happened if it is the case? Will there be any error? ,
What will happened if it is the case?

Activity with two intent filters restarts, but the main intent-filter is not called when restarting, other intentet filt

like below fixes the issue There are two intents for an activity. android.intent.action.MAIN, and android.intent.action.VIEW. Now consider a situation of app crash, then the app restarts automatically. but the intent used in restarting is not the main intent-filter (android.intent.action.MAIN). I want to restart the app by this intent (android.intent.action.MAIN). , Login Activity had two intent filters as follows.
            <action android:name="android.intent.action.MAIN" />
            <category android:name="android.intent.category.LAUNCHER" />

            <action android:name="android.intent.action.VIEW" />
            <category android:name="android.intent.category.BROWSABLE" />
            <category android:name="android.intent.category.DEFAULT" />
            <category android:name="android.intent.category.LAUNCHER" />
                tools:ignore="AppLinkUrlError" />
