Progress Bar C# not showing the real progress

this one helps. I guess the problem is that you're using progressBar.increment instead of setting the value property. Increment adds the given value to the current value.
so for example in this loop
for (int i = 1; i <= k; i++)

Showing calculation progress real time and retain progress even if the browser is closed

I think the issue was by ths following , This kind of processing requires planning. There are many edge cases. What if the process is already running? What to do if the server terminates in the middle of processing? Can you restart? Can the processing be interrupted? Can every user start this processing, or just authorized ones?
Ok, now to an answer. You want to run the processing in a separate, background thread. See the Executor classes. Then you have to store the progress of that processing somewhere (think db here) and create another page to show that progress. You may also have to remember the user that started the processing, so that you know which of the progress information to show to the user requesting the progress.

hope this fix your issue The Session.GetFiles method in blocking.
It means it returns only after the transfer finishes.
Public Class ProgressDialog1

    Private Sub ProgressDialog1_Load(sender As Object, e As EventArgs) Handles MyBase.Load
        ' Run download on a separate thread
        ThreadPool.QueueUserWorkItem(New WaitCallback(AddressOf Download))
    End Sub

    Private Sub Download(stateInfo As Object)
        ' Setup session options
        Dim mySessionOptions As New SessionOptions
        With mySessionOptions
        End With

        Using mySession As Session = New Session
            AddHandler mySession.FileTransferProgress, AddressOf SessionFileTransferProgress

            ' Connect

            mySession.GetFiles(<Source>, <Destination>).Check()
        End Using

        ' Close form (invoked on GUI thread)
        Invoke(New Action(Sub() Close()))
    End Sub

    Private Sub SessionFileTransferProgress(sender As Object, e As FileTransferProgressEventArgs)
        ' Update progress bar (on GUI thread)
        ProgressBar1.Invoke(New Action(Of Double)(AddressOf UpdateProgress), e.OverallProgress)
    End Sub

    Private Sub UpdateProgress(progress As Double)
        ProgressBar1.Value = progress * 100
    End Sub
End Class
Private Shared Sub SessionFileTransferProgress(sender As Object, e As FileTransferProgressEventArgs)
    'Print transfer progress
    ProgressBar1.Value = e.FileProgress
End Sub
