will be helpful for those in need Using Pandas 0.16.2, I didn't have a problem getting local US Eastern time from tz aware timestamps.
s = pd.Series(pd.date_range('20130101 09:10:12', periods=4, tz='US/Eastern', freq='H'))

>>> s
0    2013-01-01 09:10:12-05:00
1    2013-01-01 10:10:12-05:00
2    2013-01-01 11:10:12-05:00
3    2013-01-01 12:10:12-05:00
dtype: object

>>> s.dt.hour
0     9
1    10
2    11
3    12
dtype: int64
idx = [1, 3]
>>> s.ix[idx].dt.hour
1    10
3    12
dtype: int64

Delphi / MySql : timestamp in DB aware components

Tag : mysql , By : meehan

This might help you For normal use your do not need to do anything.
I had used Delphi / MySQL for many year and all data access components I had used (dbexpress / zeros / MyDAC) do the conversion automatically. In case I need to manually specify the timestamp value, I just provide the text format ("yyyy/mm/dd hh:nn:ss")

Get UNIX timestamp (ie UTC timestamp) from a Python timezone aware date

Tag : python , By : Ben Kohn

I wish this helpful for you My computer is running in Pacific time (hence datetime.datetime.fromtimestamp(0) gives me 1969-12-31 16:00:00). My problem is that given a timezone aware datetime object in Python, I want to get the UNIX timestamp (ie the UTC timestamp). What is the best way to do so?
import calendar
import datetime
import pytz

d = datetime.datetime.now(pytz.timezone('America/Los_Angeles'))
# d == datetime.datetime(2012, 7, 10, 1, 6, 36, 37542, tzinfo=<DstTzInfo 'America/Los_Angeles' PDT-1 day, 17:00:00 DST>)

ts = calendar.timegm(d.utctimetuple())
# ts == 1341907596

# test with UTC epoch:

d = datetime.datetime(1969, 12, 31, 16, 0, 0, 0, pytz.timezone('America/Los_Angeles'))
# d == datetime.datetime(1969, 12, 31, 16, 0, tzinfo=<DstTzInfo 'America/Los_Angeles' PST-1 day, 16:00:00 STD>)

ts = calendar.timegm(d.utctimetuple())
# ts == 0

Converting an un-aware timestamp into an aware timestamp for UTC conversion

wish helps you The localize method takes a datetime, not a string. So the call to strftime should be removed.
import datetime
import pytz
from pytz import timezone
dt = "8/8/2013 4:05:03 PM"
unaware_est = datetime.datetime.strptime(dt,"%m/%d/%Y %I:%M:%S %p")
localtz = timezone('US/Eastern')
aware_est = localtz.localize(unaware_est)
utc = aware_est.astimezone(pytz.utc)

select a tz aware timestamp with its local utc offset

Tag : postgresql , By : Adam

may help you . No, there's no way to do that. PostgreSQL doesn't store the offset of the client that inserts or updates the value.
If you store that offset in a separate column, you can concatenate it with the timestamp value, but you run the risk of returning the wrong value for certain conditions that involve daylight savings time.

Reset timezone aware timestamp momentjs

it should still fix some issue You have to remove toDate() that gives a JavaScript date object using local time. Then you can use valueOf() instead of getTime().
const functionName = (timestamp, timezone) => {
  return moment(timestamp)

let timestamp = 1493638245234;
let truncatedTimestamp = functionName(timestamp, 'America/Los_Angeles');
<script src="https://cdnjs.cloudflare.com/ajax/libs/moment.js/2.22.2/moment.min.js"></script>
<script src="https://cdnjs.cloudflare.com/ajax/libs/moment-timezone/0.5.17/moment-timezone-with-data-2012-2022.min.js"></script>
