Why there is no warning while casting with viewWithTag?

this will help There's a new (Xcode 7) keyword in Objective-C, __kindof, that allows you to better express the return value of a method. Instead of viewWithTag: returning UIView *, it can return __kindof UIView * which tells the compiler something like:
NSDate *date = [cell.contentView viewWithTag:TestTag];

iPhone SDK: [cell.contentView viewWithTag:1] or [cell viewWithTag:1]?

Tag : iphone , By : user177837

like below fixes the issue The one to use depends on how you created the cell in the first place. If you added your UILabel as a subview of the contentView (e.g. [cell.contentView addSubview:myLabel]), then you would use [cell.contentView viewWithTag:1] to retrieve it (assuming the label actually has a tag of 1).
However, I would caution you about using -viewWithTag: in the first place. It's fairly useful for poking at stuff, but it's not very reliable (because if two views have the same tag, you're only going to get one of them back) and it's not very efficient (it has to traverse the subviews every time you use it). I would instead recommend creating a UITableViewCell subclass that has properties for your custom views, so you can access them directly.

Resharper warning casting enum to UIntPtr, but no compiler warning

seems to work fine In the code below, Resharper gives me a warning: Cannot cast expression of type 'Color' to type 'UIntPtr'. (Actually, Resharper thinks it's an actual error.) ,
This looks like a Resharper bug to me. Is it?
using System;

class A
    static void Main()
        E? x = 0;
        UIntPtr z = (UIntPtr)x;
enum E { }

warning on type casting in C

Hope that helps C does not require any diagnostic when you assign a value of an arithmetic type T1 to an object of another arithmetic type T2.
A lot of implementations issue an informative diagnostic when you assign a literal value that does not fit in an object and in other cases but again it is not required by C.

Why do I not get a warning for casting a pointer to an int?

With these it helps The first program does not warn with gcc 4.7 but gives a warning with versions 4.8.
The second program does not warn because the macro definition is in a system header. Add -Wsystem-headers to get the warning with the second program.

Casting [Any?] to [Any] without a warning

wish help you to fix your issue I am using FMDatabase, and want to pass it an array of parameters that may contain optional values. This compiles fine, but the problem is that I can't get it to work without getting a warning about implicit coercion. If I pass it an [Any?] array I get a warning in the function, but if I pass it an [Any] array I get a warning whenever I add an optional to the array. The best I've been able to do is cut it down to a single warning with this code: , Use map to convert [Any?] to [Any].
let a: [Any?] = [1, true, Optional("hello"), nil]
let b = a.map { $0 as Any }

print(type(of: a))  // Array<Optional<Any>>
print(a)            // [Optional(1), Optional(true), Optional("hello"), nil]

print(type(of: b))  // Array<Any>
print(b)            // [Optional(1), Optional(true), Optional("hello"), nil]
