I hope this helps . Have you used lodash yet? It's included in the SDK as a dependency and it's awesome for manipulating data. You can read more about it here:
https://help.rallydev.com/apps/2.0/doc/#!/guide/third_party_libs-section-lo-dash-2.4.1
var projectNames = _.map(store.getRange(), function(record) {
    return record.get('Project').Name; //or ref, or objectid, etc...
}),
    uniqueProjectNames = _.uniq(projectNames);

Java: How to be sure to store unique arrays based on its values on a List

Any of those help It sounds like you need a LinkedHashSet (preserving insertion order while maintaining uniqueness) and then wrap your arrays in an object that implements hashcode and equal in a way that makes sense for your arrays. A first approximation may just be the Arrays.asList() method, but you state in your question that you are using primitives in an Object[] array. Either you are relying on autoboxing, or you are in fact not using an Object[] array but rather an int[], long[], float[] as needed. The Arrays.asList() won't work correctly with those types.
Edit: Per the request of the comment, here is code for a wrapper class:
  public class ArrayWrapper {
       private Object[]array;
       public ArrayWrapper(Object[] array) { this.array = array; }
       public Object[] getArray() {
                 Object[] newArray=new Object[array.length];
                 System.arraycopy(array,0,newArray,0,array.length);
                  return newArray;
       }
       public int hashCode() { return Arrays.hashCode(array); }
       public boolean equals(Object obj) {
              boolean b=false;
              if(obj instanceof ArrayWrapper){
                     b=Arrays.equals(this.array,((ArrayWrapper)obj).getArray());
              }
              return b;
       }
 }

How to store a pair of strings in a non-unique list

hop of those help? Personally I would go over creating a little class of my own to hold the two bits of data and have a List of them, that seems quite right to me.
Probably you will end adding some logic there sooner or latter.

how do I create list of unique values and systematically store them in localstorage

fixed the issue. Will look into that further Your model has an error. At the first time, you save a primitive value. Then, you want to "append" another value to it. Seems like you actually want to use an object:
var myObj = localStorage.getItem("myName");
if(myObj) myObj = JSON.parse(myObj); //Variable exists
else myObj = {}; //Elsem create a new object

function appendNewValue(name, value){
    myObj[name] = value;
    localStorage.setItem("myName", JSON.stringify(myObj));
    /* Saves data immediately. Instead of saving every time, you can
       also add this persistence feature to the `(before)unload` handler. */
}

java - best way to store unique list of string array

wish help you to fix your issue You could use Lists instead of arrays. If you use the lists from the java.util package, they should already implement hashCode() and equals(Object) in a way that fits your needs (deep equals and deep hasCode):
String[][] stringArrays = new String[][] {
    {"error message 1", "fail"},
    {"error message 2", "N/A"},
    {"error message 1", "fail"}, // duplicate
    {"error message 2", "fail"}
};

Set<List<String>> uniqueSet = new HashSet<List<String>>();
for (String[] a : stringLists) {
    uniqueSet.add(Arrays.asList(a));
}
// uniqueSet.size() should return 3 here

How to store data which is essentially a list tied to a unique value in SQL

With these it helps You use two tables, one for each entity with defined foreign key relationships. The tables would look like:
create table words (
    WordId int not null primary key auto_increment,
    Word varchar(255)
    . . .
);

create table synonyms (
    SynonymId int not null primary key auto_increment,
    WordId int not null,
    Synonym varchar(255),
    . . .
    constraint fk_wordid foreign key (WordId) references Words(WordId)
);
create table synonyms (
    SynonymId int not null primary key auto_increment,
    WordId int not null,
    SynonymWordId int not null,
    . . .
    constraint fk_wordid foreign key (WordId) references Words(WordId),
    constraint fk_synonymwordid foreign key (SynonymWordId) references Words(WordId)
);
