Android google analytics easytracker - track event call in onCreate method of launcher activity crashes

Tag : android , By : James Lupiani

Hope that helps You get a NullPointerException because the tracker is initialized in the onStart method of the base class TrackedActivity, which happens after onCreate. However, TrackedActivity automatically tracks the creation of the activity (trackPageView) so normally you do not need trackEvent here. You can successfully call trackEvent on any other method between onStart and onStop on the activity's lifecycle.

it should still fix some issue I'm having a problem with the Google App Engine Launcher (the GUI thingy). , A quick google suggests:

I don't know why my tracking beacon isn't being sent as I debug my Google Analytics

To fix this issue The answer was found in this thread. With my limited knowledge of Google Analytics, I didn't know to look for the __utm.gif request in my Network panel. Sure enough, it wasn't being requested either.
The site I'm working on is currently being hosted on an extranet. While it wasn't a localhost or intranet site, it seems like this is an issue with extranet sites as well.

How to disable the google analytics-debug js?

I think the issue was by ths following , Have you set the "Use Debug Version" option to true in your tag configuration for your Google Analytics tag within Google Tag Manager? Doing so would cause GA to load the debug version and print the messages you are seeing in your console.
While configuring your tag in Google Tag Manager, this is available under: "More Settings -> Advanced Configuration" (screenshot)

will be helpful for those in need That error indicates you aren't correctly packaging the ANE with your application.
With CS5.5 you'll need to package your application from the command line in order to correctly package ANEs. CS5.5 didn't include the ability to package applications using ANEs.
adt -package
    -target apk
    -storetype pkcs12 -keystore YOUR_SIGNING_KEY.p12
    myApp.swf icons
    -extdir extensionsDir
