This might help you According to Realm document http://realm.io/docs/cocoa/0.89.1/
AppState *defaultState = [AppState sharedInstance];
[defaultState.realm beginWriteTransaction];
defaultState.appStateX = newAppStateValue;
[defaultState.realm commitWriteTransaction];

Is using a singleton for the connection a good idea in ASP.NET website

wish of those help Using a single connection is an extremely bad idea - if access to the connection is properly locked, it means that ASP.NET can only serve one user at a time, which will seriously limit your application's ability to grow.
If the connection is not properly locked, things can get really weird. For example, one thread might dispose the connection while another thread is trying to execute a command against it.

Is implementing a singleton using an auto-property a good idea?

it should still fix some issue I wouldn't personally do that. I don't like using automatically implemented properties with a private setter that you never call where really you want a read-only property backed by a read-only variable. It's only one more line of code to be more explicit about what you mean:
public sealed class MySingleton
{
    private static readonly MySingleton mySingleton;
    public static MySingleton MySingleton { get { return mySingleton; } }

    private MySingleton() {}

    static MySingleton() { mySingleton = new MySingleton(); }
}
public sealed class MySingleton
{
    public static MySingleton MySingleton { get; } = new MySingleton();
    private MySingleton() {}
    static MySingleton() {}
}

Singleton pattern with Web application, Not a good idea!

I hope this helps you . You should think twice any time you are using static objects in a multi-threaded application (not only the singleton pattern) because of the shared state. Proper locking mechanisms should be applied in order to synchronize the access to the shared state. Failing to do so some very difficult to find bugs could appear.

Use Singleton pattern for LINQ to SQL persistance - good idea?

may help you . Singleton is generally considered an anti-pattern these days. Which is not to say that there aren't situations where you want to guarantee there's only one instance of a particular type ... but a better solution is to use an inversion-of-control (IoC) container such as StructureMap to wrap your type in a singleton. I believe the Policy Injection block of Enterprise Library will also do this.
In my experience LINQ to SQL is limited in what you can do as far as handling relationships ... you can easily end up incurring an additional query for each related table. We are looking at moving to NHibernate as the additional queries are becoming a performance issue.

Singleton with a delegate: Good idea or bad?

it fixes the issue Imo this is not a good idea for the reason you cited. The Singleton pattern is really for things there are only one of, but it sounds like your app can have need for multiple instances of these services. I think you'd wind up working around this (using an operations queue or some kind of delegate multiplexer) when you really just need to instantiate multiple instances of your service.
