Unexpected colors with solarized dark theme on emacs (blue background)

I think the issue was by ths following , It turns out that the official (or officially endorsed) soliarized git repo has a version that is less good than this one. I switched to the latter and it fixed the issue.

I think the issue was by ths following , Solved this one myself. After verifying this wasn't an issue by using vim instead of NeoVim, the problem was I was not using NeoVim TrueColor support. Enabling this using the environment variable NVIM_TUI_ENABLE_TRUE_COLOR=1. Adding export NVIM_TUI_ENABLE_TRUE_COLOR=1

Hope that helps I found a quick hack for iTerm2 users, just increment the contrast a little bit.
