hope this fix your issue I am creating a budget program in java and need to check to see if the user inputs a valid dollar amount, specifically 2 decimal places. There is no specification on how this should be done. , Try something like:
if (fValue*100 == (int)(fValue*100)) {
    //fValue had 2 decimal places or less

Java string format checking

it helps some times You can use regex to test if the string matches a certain pattern. The regex could be this:
^Chapter \\d+: .*
public static boolean validChapter (String s) {
    return s.matches("^Chapter \\d+: .*");
public static void main(String[] args) {

    String str1 = "Chapter 1: Home";
    String str2 = "Chapter 2: Revenge";
    String str3 = "Chapter 3c: Return";
    String str4 = "Chapter 1:Return";

    System.out.println(validChapter(str1)); // true
    System.out.println(validChapter(str2)); // true
    System.out.println(validChapter(str3)); // false
    System.out.println(validChapter(str4)); // false

wish helps you I'm trying to print an existing pdf file with pdfbox. Currently I'm using pdfbox 2.0.0 RC3 through maven. , Try this for pdfbox 2.0.0-RC3 version
PDDocument doc = PDDocument.load(new File("test.pdf"));
PDFPrintable printable = new PDFPrintable(doc, Scaling.SHRINK_TO_FIT);
PrinterJob job = PrinterJob.getPrinterJob();
PDDocument doc = PDDocument.load(new File("test.pdf"));
PrinterJob job = PrinterJob.getPrinterJob();

// define custom paper
Paper paper = new Paper();
paper.setSize(306, 396); // 1/72 inch
paper.setImageableArea(0, 0, paper.getWidth(), paper.getHeight()); // no margins

// custom page format
PageFormat pageFormat = new PageFormat();

// override the page format
Book book = new Book();
// append all pages
book.append(new PDFPrintable(doc, Scaling.SHRINK_TO_FIT), pageFormat, doc.getNumberOfPages());
