If you just want to focus on a Python backend as a learning exercise then you could use Flask which can run as a server and includes many modules to help you get started including managing users. If you plan to expose your app publicly though it is generally recommended to use Apache or some other battle tested server which can route the requests to Flask.

Does that help The first one usually, because no need to write extra code if you can do it within MySQL query, also, don't forget to make username column unique index.

This might help you According to your given description in question you may need three tables.
1. User --> userId, userName, etc...
2. Object --> objectId, objectName, etc... and userId (reference of User)
3. Property --> propertyId,propertyName, etc... and objectId (reference of Object)

This might help you in your function login, try to remove the quotes ' arround the field name password. Or prefer use this one ` .
And take care, you are using function mysql_result and mysql_query that both are no longer supported in PHP 7.0
