Pass information to a view Controller underneath current view controller for objective c

Tag : objective-c , By : Ernie

I wish this help you The simplest way to do this is to create the object as a property in your CurrentViewController and pass that object over to the ModalViewController ( This can be possibly done by creating your own init method ). Your ModalViewController can update this object as and when the User performs an action or whatever you are trying to do. Since this object was created in CurrentViewController , the data will remain valid and accessible from there once the ModalView is dismissed.

how to make layout of a video view underneath a scrollable text view and underneath a horizontal scroll view of images?

I hope this helps . You probably want to use a LinearLayout so you can specify weight to each item. Read the documentation here http://developer.android.com/guide/topics/ui/layout/linear.html

Present new view controller underneath current view controller

will be helpful for those in need You can do this indeed by "hiding" your second view controller underneath the first view controller that you want to display. UINavigationController gives you everything you need for this for free.
Use the following (pseudo-)code from the view controller where you are showing the modal view:
FirstVC *first = [[FirstVC alloc] init]; // this VC is shown first
SecondVC *second = [[FirstVC alloc] init]; // this VC that hides beneath the other

UINavigationController *nav = [[UINavigationController alloc] initWithRootViewController:second];
[nav pushViewController:first animated:NO];

[self presentViewController:nav animated:YES completion:nil];
[self.navigationController popViewControllerAnimated:YES];

Updating UILabel from another View Controller

fixed the issue. Will look into that further Because At this time, the GroupsHomeViewController is not loaded in the memory yet, that's why you are facing this issue. Instead of directly passing value to UILabel, try passing text using NSString. Declare
@property (strong,nonatomic) NSString *valueToPass;
NSString *selectedImage = arrayOfImages [indexPath.item]; //collect image
GroupsHomeViewController *groupsHomeVC = segue.destinationViewController; //set D.V.C
groupsHomeVC.logoImage = [UIImage imageNamed: selectedImage]; //set image
// pass string to next viewController's NSString object.
groupsHomeVC.valueToPass = arrayOfDescriptions[indexPath.item ];

Dismiss View controller underneath current visible view controller in stack

around this issue How would I go about dismissing a view controller once a segue has been performed? Once the new view controller has animated on top, I want to dismiss the view controller underneath (the one which the segue was initially triggered from). , Try this:
Add the below code to first view controller.
override func prepare(for segue: UIStoryboardSegue, sender: Any?)
    {
        self.dismiss(animated: true, completion: nil)
    }
