wish help you to fix your issue So first off, my apologies as I am a total noob when it comes to VBScript. I have been googling and trying examples of code I have found for the last several days and I just can't seem to be able to put the pieces together. , This will give you the names of all files in a directory.
    Dim fso, folder, files, sFolder
    Set fso = CreateObject("Scripting.FileSystemObject")
    sFolder = "C:\DOCUME~1\Philip\LOCALS~1\Temp"
    Set folder = fso.GetFolder(sFolder)
    Set files = folder.Files
    For each k In files
        WScript.Echo k

strComputer = "hostname"

strFolderName = "\\"& strComputer &"\C$\Data"

Set objFSO = CreateObject("Scripting.FileSystemObject")

If objFSO.FolderExists(strFolderName) Then
    Set objFolder = objFSO.GetFolder(strFolderName)
    strNewName = objFolder.Name & ".old"
    objFolder.Name = strNewName

may help you . Since NodeList already contain nodes without corresponding , you don't need to do If checking anymore inside For Each loop :
Set NodeList = objMSXML.documentElement.selectNodes("/ECSC/PARAMETERS/ETPAR_GUIX/item[not(PGROUP)]/PNAME")
For Each item in NodeList
  myPNAME = item.text
  msgbox("PGROUP is NOT exist for" &myPNAME)

I wish this helpful for you You are close with your instr(), it's just that you need to put that test within your already existing For loop:
Option Explicit

 Dim fso, folder, file,  tmFile
 Dim folderName

 folderName     = "\\pcc\Int\PC\Inbox\"

 Set fso = CreateObject("Scripting.FileSystemObject")
 Set folder = fso.GetFolder(folderName)

 For each file In folder.Files
     If instr(file, "TM") > 0 THEN
         file.name = replace(file.name, ".txt". "A.txt")
     End IF

How to rename folder even if this target folder has already exist?

I hope this helps you . You need to first delete everything in 'a' or move/rename it to something else. You can delete it with Apache's recurrsive deleteDictionary function. This gets every file in the aFolder and deletes it, then deletes the folder itself.
