adding a variable Number to div position in jquery?

I wish this helpful for you You can't use the += operator in regular CSS. Get the current position and calculate the new positon from that:
var xMove = 200;
$("#clickhere").click(function() {
  $("#object").css({ left: ($('#object').position().left + xMove) + 'px' });
});

will help you I'm trying to add a new node with a variable number of child elements based on the existence of other elements elsewhere in the XML document. Here's a simplified example of what I'm starting with: , You can adjust your XSLT as follows:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<xsl:stylesheet version="2.0"
     xmlns:xsl="http://www.w3.org/1999/XSL/Transform"
     xmlns:xs="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema"
     xmlns:fn="http://www.w3.org/2005/xpath-functions"
     xmlns:xdt="http://www.w3.org/2005/xpath-datatypes"
     exclude-result-prefixes="xs fn xdt">
<xsl:output method="xml" version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"
     omit-xml-declaration="yes" indent="yes"/>

<xsl:template match="@*|node()">
    <xsl:copy>
        <xsl:apply-templates select="@*|node()"/>
    </xsl:copy>
</xsl:template>

<xsl:template match="Parent">
    <Parent>
    <xsl:apply-templates select="@*|*"/>
        <SecondChild>
          <NewList>
            <xsl:for-each select="*/List/Fruit">
              <NewFruit>
                 <xsl:apply-templates select="@* | node()"/>
              </NewFruit>
            </xsl:for-each>
          </NewList>

Jquery Create Number Of Input Elements based on select value

may help you . I would like to start by saying I am very new to jquery and javascript I rarely use it, however I now find myself in a position where I need to make use of it. , Try to .append() the new elements into the target element,
$("#nrGames").change(function() {
  var value = +$(this).val();
  value *= 2;
  var nr = 0;
  var elem = $('#games').empty();
  while (nr < value) {
    elem.append($('<input>',{name : "whateverNameYouWant"}));
    nr++;
  }
});

Create a certain number of elements based on integer with jQuery

help you fix your problem You can achieve this with JQuery with a for loop, and create the elements dynamically using the JQuery function $(...) (Tutorial here)
In the end, You'll probably end up with something like this:
// fetch the items from the url
$.getJSON("your url").then(function(response){

  //cycle through all the items in the array
  for(var i = 0; i < response.items.length; i++){

    // create image
    var image = $('<img>').attr("src", response.items[i].img);
    // make sure to set the attribute using the "attr" function
    // to avoid Cross Site Scripting (see the link below)

    // create text element
    var text = $('<p>').text(response.items[i].name);

    // append the items to the container
    $("container element").append(image).append(text);
   }
});
