Python append to file opened inside a class

I wish this help you It's unclear what exactly you're trying to accomplish — it looks sort of like a context manager class. I renamed __append__() to append() because methods that start and end with double underscores should only be defined by the language and I renamed your class from add_to_file to AddToFile in accordance with PEP 8 - Style Guide for Python Code.
import os
import sys

class AddToFile(object):
    def __init__(self, filename):
        self.data_file = open(filename,'a')
    def __enter__(self): # __enter__ and __exit__ are there to support
        return self # `with self as blah` syntax
    def __exit__(self, exc_type, exc_val, exc_tb):
    def __iter__(self):
        return self
    def append(self, s):

with AddToFile("Junk") as atf:

with open("Junk") as file:
    print(file.read())  # --> PQR

Calling tell() on Python file objects opened in append mode returns 0 if not manually seeking to eof

I wish did fix the issue. Under Python 2, append mode means every write goes to the end of the file. The file pointer might really start at zero, but that doesn't matter because it will seek to the end every time you write.
Note that seek() and tell() are largely useless in append mode, since the former will always be overridden by the implicit seek-to-end. If you need to append to the file without this behavior, open it in r+b mode and then manually seek to the end of the file.

seems to work fine You need to store a reference to the other window and use it's document context to access elements in it once it has loaded
$("#games").on("click", ".editeaza", function() {
  // other window reference
  var otherWindow = window.open("edit.html");
  // let other window load before accessing elements
  $(otherWindow).on('load', function() {
    // document in other window
    var $doc = $(this.document);
    // find() within other document
    $doc.find("#editGames").append("<p>I AM DUMB!</p>");
$("#games").on("click", ".editeaza", function() {
    window.open("edit.html?item_id=" + $(this).parent().attr('id'));
